Tips for a Successful Day

Whether it’s your child’s first time on the snow or they’re a seasoned little skier, these tips will help everyone have a fun, smooth day at Peek’n Kids.

  • Arrive early and plan ahead: Give yourself plenty of time in the morning for breakfast and getting ready. Students are accepted starting at 8:30 AM, and lessons begin promptly at 10:00 AM.
  • Prepare your child: Talk with them about what to expect and get them excited for their day on the snow.
  • Dress in layers: Warm, waterproof layers help kids adjust to changing temperatures. Don’t forget snow pants, jacket, gloves, and neck/balaclava.
  • One pair of socks is enough: Ski/snowboard boots are insulated—extra socks can cause discomfort or restrict circulation.
  • Goggles recommended: Protect eyes from wind, snow, and sun glare. (No rentals available.)
  • Properly sized equipment: Boots should fit like a firm handshake, skis and snowboards should be adjusted for the child’s boots. Avoid borrowing gear that isn’t properly fitted.
  • Check-in from a distance: Parents can watch through lodge windows to avoid distracting students. Lessons are structured to keep kids engaged and safe.
  • Celebrate progress: Every step counts! Encourage your child, whether they’re trying their first turns or riding the chairlift.
