Cardboard Box Derby 2021

10:00 am - 12:00 pm | The Retreat

Calling All Cardboard Craftsmen: Start gathering boxes and sketching your plans for Peek’n Peak’s 2021 Cardboard Box Derby!  We are encouraging organizations, co-workers, family, and/or friends to get together and turn cardboard, glue, tape, and paper into vehicles that can sustain a trek down the snow tubing hill!

Rules for Participants:

  • “Vehicle” may be no wider than 12 feet.
  • Sleds should primarily be constructed out of cardboard, glue, tape, and paper.
  • Please fill out our registration form prior to the event.

Prizes will be awarded for:

  1. Creativity: structural design, concept, etc.
  2. Best Team Spirit: Remember to have fun!
  3. Best Time: Fastest vehicle to successfully make it down the hill.

Derby Format:

  • 4 sleds per heat (number subject to change depending on # of sled entries)
  • Winner of each heat moves on to next round
  • All qualifying sleds will move into the bracket, losers eliminated until we have a winner.
  • Box must be able to run more than once if it wins a heat or to break a tie, or it will be eliminated.

 

Times:

  •  Registration/Check begins at 9AM at the Snow Tubing Hill
  •  Sleds will be inspected for safety before the event
  •  Derby begins at 10AM on the Tubing Hill
